Last week, Judah got to experience his very first hurricane! One that shares a name with his uncle too. :) Not that he knew any different, but as soon as we realized that it was looking like we were in its path, we packed up and went to my grandparents (Nana and Papa) for a couple of days.
They live less than 5 minutes away and have a fancy generator that keeps part of the house with AC and electricity, so it was a no-brainer! We've already had our experience about 4 years ago "roughing it" with Gustav, and we knew that we did not want to put a 4-month old in that situation--for his sake and ours!
It was the slowest moving hurricane ever, but we had a great time hanging out with Nana and Papa (and Randyl, Kat, and Azul!). I was even able to snap a few pics along the way.

First time Papa held Judah. :) It only took 4 months! |

Our room had AC but no lights--this was our hands free solution (But then Nana showed me how to open their curtains, which worked too I guess). |

We got rained on in more ways than one. |

Waaay past bed time--trying to tire him out and keep us entertained. Judah decided that a hurricane was a great time to stop sleeping for 10 hours and instead wake up every 3-4 hours. |

And what's a hurricane without a shadow puppet show? You know you all do it too! |
