design [Judah's 1st Birthday Party Invitations]

I absolutely cannot believe this is already happening! You hear everyone say "time flies," but until you see it for yourself, you have no clue how true this statement really is.

For Judah's party, we're planning a lion theme.  Since he doesn't really have any favorites yet, we picked a theme synonymous with his name.  The "Lion of Judah" is something that I love when people bring up, and we have actually gotten quite a few lion gifts along the way.  It's a part of his name that I didn't realize how much I would enjoy until after we named him.

I wanted his invitation to reflect the joy that Judah brings to us and let our friends and family know how thankful we are to them, especially during this past year.  Even if they can't attend, we still wanted to send them this thank you. Between calls, texts, "check-ins," e-mails, and free babysitting, I'm not sure how we would have managed.  Having a baby can be really challenging, so those closest to us are more precious than ever.

I feel like I've grown so much this past year, and I know that I still have growing to do. But for now, I get to finish planning and decorating for his party, which I'm sure will be here and over way too fast. 

design [erin's graduation party invitations]

 These invitations were a lot of fun because they were different from my normal invitation designs.  When Erin emailed me that she wanted an invite to celebrate not so much her graduation but her becoming an RN, I immediately knew what I wanted to do.  

Since I know Erin personally and she's in our community group, I knew the ups and downs she's faced during her time in nursing school and all the challenges she experienced.  So what other way to celebrate her path to becoming an RN then with a timeline with pictures showing all those things??  She loved the idea and had the perfect pictures for every milestone that I suggested.

She pretty much is who I think of when I hear the word perseverance. We couldn't be more excited for her as she starts her nursing career in the ER!  You did it!!

design [lillian's 1st birthday invitations]

Could she be any cuter??? I really don't think so.  But then again, I am partial since she belongs to the girl that I shared a dorm and then apartment with for almost 4 years.  :)

Kendra just wanted the invitation to be very colorful and include chevron.  That was pretty much the extent and I just ran with it.  I had a couple others that I really liked as well, but we ended up on this one, which I gotta say was my favorite.  It's so rare when I actually send my favorite design to press, so I was excited when I saw this make it's way to my mailbox.

Happy early Birthday Lillian!!  You are one greatly loved little girl!   

dedication invitation

I sent these bad boys out last weekend to our family and friends who don't attend our church.  While I'm sure I didn't need to design an invitation announcing this event, I definitely wanted to.  Really any excuse I get to design something for myself I take.  Whether that means making up reasons or not. :)

Our church uses the term "family dedication" instead of "baby dedication" and I so love that because it just goes to show the nature of those that we share community with.  I already feel so supported by the other mothers around me who give me advice and calm my worries or who keep me company while nursing Judah before church. ;)  It's also a wonderful feeling to have people entering/living in our same stage of life and to know we have people praying on our family's behalf all the time.

Hopefully, I'll get a chance to take some pictures during the dedication and afterwards, but until then, I'm hoping that Judah keeps growing, so he can fit into the little suit we have picked out for him!

i should be sleeping

i don't know what it is or why i am still awake (i smell like lysol and have grease under my nails from "operation clean apartment" earlier today), but between playing around for a friend's wedding invite and finishing up a fun project for another friend, inspiration struck. it came in the form of wedding invites, which is odd because i haven't had the urge to make mock wedding invites in a very long time. maybe its because me and joel's anniversary is quickly approaching? who knows, but i did all this work and figured i would share my ideas with y'all.








so that's taken up the last 2 hours of my night! i must get up and move now. they definitely aren't for everyone, so if some strike your fancy and some don't...that's cool too. :) i find it so funny when i think i know which proof people are going to go with and they go with the one that i almost didn't even include...it always amazes me. but part of the fun, nonetheless. i'll go ahead and put these up on my etsy site and design blog, so if you know anyone interested in invites of any kind, you know where to send them!!
